Selected work

Built by Hewstone.

Two paying clients, then concept builds and spec pitches. Every one is live, every one is labeled for exactly what it is. No invented clients, no borrowed work.

Client build · Carpet and air duct cleaning, Champlin MN

Live and in service

Green Team site, a bold headline over an illustration of two owners in front of their green van

Green Team

Justin, Ryan and Clayton clean carpet, air ducts and dryer vents across the north and northwest metro, and do the work themselves. Hewstone rebuilt their site on their own domain: a page for every service they sell, a real page for each of the 43 towns in their search footprint, and a price estimator that quotes a maximum rather than a starting point.

What it shows: local search at scale, and publishing a price as a ceiling rather than a starting point.

The site

53 pages built from scratch: a page for every service they sell, plus a real page for each of the 43 towns in their search footprint.

Instant price estimators

Three of them, on the homepage, every service page and all 43 town pages. A homeowner answers a few questions and gets a number back, quoted as a maximum rather than a starting point.

A map for every town

86 vector maps, a desktop and a mobile plate for each town, drawn from open map data so that no two town pages carry the same map.

Google listings

Their business description rewritten, a missing service category added, and merge requests filed for two duplicate listings. Google decides those on its own schedule.

The owner reports that the day after the site went live, a homeowner priced a job in the estimator and phoned in to book it.

Client build · Business-purpose lending, Farmington MN

Live and in service

Trueballast Financial site, a serif headline over a still lake at golden hour

Trueballast Financial

Jacob places working capital and equipment financing with private lenders for business owners the bank turned down. He came to Hewstone with a business and no name, no brand, and no site. He now has all three, and an application his customers can finish in four minutes.

What it shows: naming and brand through to a working product, for a business that is not a trades company.

Renaming

An established brokerage trading under a name it had outgrown. Trueballast came out of the founder's own story and cleared a USPTO Class 36 knockout search before a dollar was spent on signage.

Brand and wordmark

A full identity: the Waterline mark, the palette, the type system, and the voice, documented in a brand kit the owner keeps.

The site

Eight pages designed and built from scratch, including the disclosures a lending business is required to publish and most competitors bury.

A two-path apply flow

The application sorts working capital from equipment financing in one click, then asks four minutes of plain questions. No Social Security number, no tax ID, no bank logins.

I have to say this is where it's at regarding anything websites. The pure eye popping power of my website done by Hewstone is unreal. For how Turn-Key these websites really are... It is absolutely crazy when you also think about how much other developers have tried to get you to pay in the past.
Jacob V., President, Trueballast Financial

Hewstone has two Google reviews. One of them is Jacob's. The other is not from a client at all. That is the whole of the social proof, stated plainly, because a page claiming more than that would be the first thing worth checking.

Concept and spec work

Nobody paid for these. They were built to answer a question a prospect always asks, which is what the work actually looks like before they commission any. Each one is live and each one says on the label what it is.
